Position Title: Logistics Analyst IT Logistics Technician (L2)

Location: Charlottesville, VA

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

 

GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOMs mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

An I2TS 3 IT Logistics Technician:

• Oversees the transportation of classified and unclassified intelligence IT equipment throughout the world
• Works customs issues for worldwide transportation
• Works with customers and funding personnel to ensure appropriate funding is available to meet logistics requirements
• Supportalsoincludes,butisnotlimitedtoassistanceinlogisticsmanagement,equipmentandsparesdatabasemanagement, shipping and tracking, and managing an operational spares
• Analyzes standard contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements
• Develops logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies
• Follows established policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
• Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times

 

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• Experience with the Armys Automated Systems Integration Database (ASID)
• Experience with Army Property Management Office and supply chain of custody
• Knowledge of Procurement Processes and use of the CHESS system
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Education Required:

• High School diploma/GED with 8-years of related experience, or Associates degree with 6-years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 4-years of experience

Certification(s):

• Specific certifications may be required as determined by the Program Manager
• GCSS-Army (Supply) training cert OR other Army logistics systems training/cert

Security Clearance:

• TS/SCI required

Additional:

• Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for  certain positions as determined by the contract
• Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
