General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a Business Functional Analyst to join our team supporting the USPS in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities and duties included but not limited to:

  • Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems
  • Work with business partners and STL development team to support current business processes
  • Exercises analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing a system of computer programs, and developing procedures to resolve the problems
  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
  • Develops and modifies complex systems and develops subsystems to enhance the overall operational system
  • Work with developers to help create and understand technical tasks
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
  • Analyzes methods of approach
  • Knowledge of project development life cycles and DevOps
  • Reviews task proposal requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications for programs, resolves processing problems, coordinates work with programmers, and orients users to new systems
  • Competent to work on routine systems analysis activities, but requires instruction and guidance in complex activities


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred


  • 10+ years of experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapt to sudden modifications, work independently or with a team
  • Ability to make educated decisions regarding their projects
  • Understanding of business concepts to help create and manage user stories and backlogs
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with knowledge of Agile project management and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days
