Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to help support our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. 

Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.

This shift for this position is Tuesday - Saturday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining network devices (switches, routers) of data and communications networks as part of Network Team.

  • Work with Tier I/II Service Desk Technicians and cable's team to resolve customer impacting network outages, network changes and activation.

  • Monitor, assign, and work Remedy tickets ensuring they are resolved within the established Service Level Agreement

  • Analyzes network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements

  • Monitor network connectivity

  • Create Standard Operations Procedures and Shift Reports

  • Maintain team schedule

  • Handle all escalations

  • May work odd hours to support facility maintenance actions to minimize customer impact.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE or higher)

  • 5 years of network engineering or network administration experience, including 1 year of management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Hands-on experience with the Network Administration

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active TS or TS/SCI clearance

  • Computing Environment certification
