HOW A SOFTWARE ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Summary:

Designs, develops, evaluates, plans software programs and applications

Job Duties:

  • Works as a member of an agile scrum team and participates in regular agile ceremonies applying scrum methodologies – daily stand up, planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives.
  • Utilizes a modern DevSecOps approach in in the building and architecture of software applications
  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
  • Designs, develops, codes, tests and debugs highly complex new software products or makes significant enhancements to existing software.
  • Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.
  • Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
  • Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
  • Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation.
  • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to program management and/or customer personnel.
  • Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software developers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Will serves as a technical team or task lead.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Skills/Qualifications:

Required:

  • TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline or a Bachelor's Degree with an additional 2 years' work experience in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience with Indexing/Search Technologies and web-based, object-oriented, data management, and scripting languages, such as BASH, CSS, DOS_BATCH, HTML, Java, JavaScript, PHP, PYTHON, SQL, XML.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience working with and building APIs and web services on programs in DOD or government space
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated software development experience utilizing SAFe or similar agile methodologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated software development experience working with Open Source search technologies and at least 2 years of demonstrated software development experience working with COTS search technologies.

Desired:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline. At least 5 years of demonstrated software development experience with Apache SOLR and Micro Focus
