GDIT is seeking a Customer Outreach Specialist to help support our GSM-ETI TO35 program. This position has the ability to work remote full-time with occasional travel to the office. NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding.

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is working on many projects supporting the installation of equipment to modernize and sustain the DISN. The Customer Outreach Specialist will coordinate with DISA, DISA customers, and other project stakeholders to support a variety of implementation projects. Examples of Implementation Projects could include, but are not limited to, MILCONs, Relocations, Circuit Transitions, Timing & Sync Modernization, or Sustainment efforts.

They may be required to analyze all GFI related to a particular implementation requirement or activity at the designated implementation site. This GFI includes, but is not limited to System Engineering Documents (SEDs), Site Planning and Design (SP&D), Circuit Planning & Design (CP&D), TSOs, Major Bill of Material (MBOM), Incidental Bill of Materials (IBOM), configuration standards, wavelength plans, and Site Build Lists (SBLs).

Customer Outreach Specialist roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Meet with DISA and other stakeholders to understand priorities and report on status
  • Develop and execute a plan for project support and implementation
  • Experience in ordering, provisioning, and activating network telecommunications services in the Department of Defense (DoD) using applications such as DISA Direct Store Front (DDSF), WWOLS, IIEx, and other DISA provisioning resources.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the architecture and components of the DoD Information Network
  • Experience in analyzing customer requirements and be able to assist customers with the processes for ordering, provisioning, activating DoD telecommunications services and the use of DDSF and TCOSS.
  • Experience working on project teams with other IT professionals.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications particularly MS Sharepoint and MS Excel
  • Identify, resolve, and provide options to resolve and/or escalate implementation activity issues to leadership that could affect overall project schedule
  • Be available, via phone or email, to respond and answer questions from Project Managers, Logistics, Engineers and IE leadership on ongoing implementation activities
  • Coordinate actions necessary to support Expedited requests
  • Maintain current status of all project implementation activities
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of logistical needs with the DISA warehouse
  • Coordinate with site POCs to ensure receipt, acceptance, temporary storage, and securing of shipped assets

REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Active Interim DoD Secret clearance. Candidates without a clearance may be considered contingent upon their ability to complete the clearance process.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 years hands-on experience
  • Technically astute on the DISA implementation process and associated documents (TSIP, MBOM listing, IBOM listing, Telecommunications Service Request (TSR), Telecommunications Service Order (TSO), Telecommunications Request (TR)), for asset deployment and receipt in support of the DoDIN.
