GDITs TSS organization is seeking to hire an instructional designer to support our customers program specific training programs focusing, primarily, on contact center and help desk programs. Instructional content will be specific to the clients established procedures, tools, security, and mission.
As an instructional designer with GDIT, you will have the opportunity to utilize and enhance your content creation and facilitation skills by designing and developing client-specific training programs using proven adult learning methodologies and techniques. This includes designing and developing engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer. A Day In the Life of a TSS Instructional Designer:
Collaborates with subject matter experts to identify audience’s training needs
Creates instructional goals and content that supports goals by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
Creates visual aids (audio, video, simulations, e-learning modules, role plays, games, tests, etc)
Facilitates training classes and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
Stays abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
Evaluates and/or oversees contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs
Identifies best method of training delivery based upon training needs
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
Two or more years of experience with adult learning techniques and creating lesson plans and curriculum
Two or more years of experience managing a Learning Management System
Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
MUST be a US citizen
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent plus 3 years of related experience
Training or Instructional Design certification
Experience with content development software such as Captivate and Camtasia
Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards
Experience with instructional design and facilitation in a contact center/help desk environment
The likely salary range for this position is $44,000 - $66,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
