As a Software Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to solve complex IT issues while delivering outstanding customer service.  GDIT is seeking highly cleared candidates with active TS SCI w/Poly to provide software development, engineering, database design and Software Testing in support of enterprise –wide systems and products for the Intelligence Community (IC).  Work with the latest commercial products such as AWS and ServiceNow in an agile environment on various applications designed and maintained for a broad range of IC customers.

In this role, the contractor team shall have the following required skills and demonstrated experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Amazon Web Services environments to include S3, in order to design, develop, deploy, maintain, and monitor web applications within AWS infrastructures
  • Demonstrated experience programming in Java and/or JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience with J2EE and enterprise web application design and development
  • Demonstrated experience working with RDS databases
  • Demonstrated experience designing and writing RESTful applications
  • Demonstrated experience creating and deploying applications to an Apache Tomcat web server
  • Demonstrated ability to debug existing software and correct defects
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Demonstrated experience with change management processes using GITHUB and/or Jira to track changes in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas
  • Demonstrated experience translating product requirements into system solutions that take into account technical, schedule, cost, security, and policy constraints.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an agile environment and leading agile projects.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with staff, IT customers, and other technical and non- technical staff and contractors at all levels.

Desired skills:

  • Demonstrated experience engineering natural language processing and machine learning techniques into automated workflows. (Example techniques include clustering, ontologies and topic modeling, entity extraction Latent Semantic Indexing, and collaborative filtering.)
  • Demonstrated experience developing non-traditional or innovative means of applying technical solutions to difficult analytic problems.
  • Demonstrated experience working and applying creativity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with coordination and facilitation of meetings and technical discussions of requirements, tracking project status, plans, action items and drafting meeting minutes.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS Data Pipeline.
  • Demonstrated experience programming web applications in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript using jQuery.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing REST APls and interfacing with REST APls using AJAX.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
