This is a full performance (FP) level automotive mechanic position reporting to the primary technical expert or supervisor who has overall responsibility for the operational and compliance status of sponsors vehicle and truck fleet. The FP mechanic works with minimal daily supervision and may guide developmental contract automotive mechanics, and task third-party vendor heavy duty/truck mechanics performing work on sponsors vehicle fleet. The mechanic is responsible for implementing the established preventative maintenance program for all sponsor vehicles and equipment; following sponsors service intervals and procedures. FP mechanics interact with senior level mechanics and sponsor management to schedule services, keep management informed of equipment status and availability, and obtain approval of major vehicle repairs. Additionally, mechanics may attend staff meetings; verify repairs have been completed to specifications; act as sponsors primary liaison with third party service providers; and verify and track vendor repair invoices and submit to sponsor for payment. Good verbal and written communication is required.

This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 18, 2022 or the start date, if after January 18. Individuals who work in or reside in Texas or Montana or work outside of the United States may be excluded from this requirement.
