Our work depends on Chief Information Officer joining our team to be responsible for implementing the vision and strategic direction for digital modernization and improvements in enterprise IT services management and operations at the Pantex Site near Amarillo, TX.

HOW A CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • The CIO is responsible for managing a board range of complex IT operations. This is a technical position and requires deep and current practice experience in the subject area

  • Managing day-to-day operations, which includes customer advocacy; enterprise IT services operations and management; project management; asset management and software license management; and IT support operations. 

  • Monitoring projects to ensure quality, performance, and delivery on schedule and within budget.  

  • Participating in developing strategic planning efforts for IT management and ensuring these efforts integrate with NNSA, DHS and CISA strategic plans.

  • Managing the IT-investment review process; recommending new IT projects, program activities, priorities, and funding to support NNSA; and anticipating the needs of the future IT business enterprise. 

  • Developing recommendations for revisions to funding and exercising authority to reprogram funds within budgetary allotments. 

  • Making decisions and recommendations on which programs or major projects should be initiated, dropped, or modified; the number of resources to devote to projects; and what changes in emphasis need to be made in programs or parts of programs. 

  • Serving on the IT Governance Board to approve/concur with all IT and cybersecurity services procured sitewide.  

  • Serving as the Partner LLC representative on IT planning, oversight, and leadership committees sponsored by NNSA.

  • Serving as the key CISA representative on planning, oversight, and leadership committees sponsored by the DHS CIO, and serving as the liaison between CISA and DHS on IT concerns. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in information technology, engineering, or related field preferred

  • Required Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years of management experience.  

Required Technical Skills:

  • A verifiable background in Information Technology or related field.

  • Knowledge of software testing methods, practices, and preventative maintenance activities.  

  • Proficiency in maintaining multiple information technology systems and operating systems. Willingness to work as needed at all levels of IT. Experience implementing new technologies.  

  • Security Clearance Level: TS or DOE Q required

  • Ability to develop policy, plans, and strategy in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards in support of organizational information technology activities. Ability to relate strategy, business, and technology in the context of organizational dynamics.  

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. 

  • Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations, OMB Circular A-11, the EGovernment Act, OPM regulation/circulars and/or the roles and responsibilities delegated to the Chief Information Technology Officer through the Clinger-Cohen Act. 

  • The applicant must have a positive attitude, deliver excellent customer service, be proficient in relevant aspects of information technology, and be detail oriented.  

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent organizational skills, willingness to learn and participate in a team environment, ability to respond to requests on short notice, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.

  • Preferred Skills: PMP certification desired by not required

  • Location: Amarillo, TX. On Customer Site

  • US Citizenship Required
