GDIT is looking for a Database Developer / Analyst to join our team supporting the USPS in Merrifield, VA.
Maintain the Production, Development, and Test databases for ERDS team, including upgrading and patching databases every quarter, writing and testing scripts to automate repeated database operations. Taking Copies the Production Database to the Test environment as needed. Re-indexing Production Database as necessary.
Co-ordinate with external teams for different application needs including creating database PL-SQL modules.
Capable of writing Oracle SQL and Pl/SQL modules.
Must have knowledge of data modeling.
Identify impacts of data changes.
Evaluate data files used by retail systems. Collect, analyze and interpret data.
Develop data exchanges and automated tools.
Up to date documentation of all processes used to manage data.
Up to date documentation of all applications, tools, or web pages developed.
Maintenance of servers, databases and documentation per USPS IT policies and procedures
Create professional websites.
Administer and manage Production, Development, and Test databases for SBM including troubleshooting issues related with databases to gain performance, regular backup of the databases, and upgrading and patching databases based on team's approval.
Perform technical tasks, review design concepts for implementation, and recommend design modifications to existing and new technology for utilization in business systems.
Manipulate data, and refresh data on multiple databases.
Collect and Load data on a regular schedule, performing data importing and exporting.
Perform ad hoc data analysis, queries, updates and data manipulation, producing reports as needed.
Suggest and implement process improvement and data collection opportunities.
Analyze data sources for data loads, perform gap analyses and reconciliations - Identify and resolve conflicts affecting data resource quality and integrity.
Bachelor’s degree Technical or combination experience and education.

The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
