Europe Region CWMD Subject Matter Expert

Immediate opportunity for a Europe Region Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Subject Matter Expert (SME).  This part-time, casual position supports a Defense Threat Reduction Agency international WMD proliferation prevention program. The Europe Region CWMD SME supports and implements various aspects of the training program by designing and developing CWMD training curriculum and exercises, providing program oversight of program technical equipment, presenting instruction to foreign partners, and serving as an exercise facilitator.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for gathering, processing, analyzing  and synthesizing national security knowledge worldwide.
• Applies advanced scientific and technical knowledge to analyze foreign weapons development, weapons proliferation, cyber warfare, and emerging technologies
• Develops training modules, activities and exercises
• Leads training teams during tests, exercises, analyses and assessments of CWMD plans
• Coordinates between governmental offices and agencies to facilitate the execution of training, workshops and exercises
• Applicants must be able to travel internationally.

Requirements

• BA/BS and 10 years of experience. (Additional Education, Training, Certification or Work Experience can be substituted for degree or work experience)

Desired Qualifications

• Experience building partner capacity for countries in Europe
• Experience delivering training for DTRA Cooperative Threat Reduction or Building Partner Capacity programs
• Nuclear, biological, chemical, strategic or conventional weapon expertise
• Hands on experience with CBRN detection, monitoring, and decontamination
• Experience with Department of Defense, Major Fire Departments, or Law Enforcement
• Experience working in international environments
• Training development expertise
• Strong organizational skills
