Join GDIT, an experienced leader in U-2 operations. We are pursuing this new opportunity and are in need of a Weather Forecaster for Beale AFB, CA.

Responsibilities

The Weather Forecaster will provide support to the Program Manager and Mission Planning (Lead) as required. Responsible for providing detailed weather support to enable 24/7/365 global U-2 operations. Contractor will assist in the development and integration of relevant weather data into advanced systems and technology; integration of all weather environmental data from a variety of sources to assess current and forecast weather environment in order to issue weather products, alert bulletins, and forecast anamoly assessments.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years experience in weather forecasting and/or meteorology
  • Three plus (3+) years experience in interpretation of weather satellite imagery, climatology reports, computerized weather prediction models, and Doppler weather radar imagery
  • Three plus (3+) years experience in analyzing various types of weather elements such as clouds, wind speed, fog, visibility, atmospheric pressure, etc.
  • Three plus (3+) years experience of oceanographic, meteorological and space atmospheric conditions and hazards
  • Three plus (3+) years experience of real time weather programs and computer interfaces
  • Three plus (3+) years of the principles, concepts, and theories of meteorology and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform observations, forecasts, and analysis
  • Three plus (3+) years experience of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analysis of complex information/ situations attained from multiple sources (to include database manipulation)
  • TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED
  • BS degree in Meterology plus five years of related experience
