GDIT is looking for an energized manager who can manage, coordinate, develop and direct all faucets of a shipboard Alteration Installation team Program, and must have an excellent understanding/knowledge of financials, contracts, human resources, and lower-level project management tasks. This career position will require excellent communications internally with GDIT leadership and most importantly support communications with the customer in both a written and verbal manner. The candidate will also interact with US Navy and government officials and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. The AIT program requires the candidate to develop, monitor and track key performance indicators which will foreshadow program performance and make the associated corrections to achieve program success if necessary. The candidate must have knowledge of Earned Value Management System and other tools developed for program reporting internally as well as external reporting to the customer. Candidate must be able to develop and present to large audiences. The candidate will constantly work in sync with the management team to develop a sector strategy and approach to day-to-day operations and proposal development efforts to successfully secure new shipboard installation, repair, and engineering efforts.

Responsibilities and skills include:
Lead and guide the management team to create a collaborative environment that fosters teamwork amongst the program and business areas. Takes ownership and accountability of all aspects of the program.
Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Aggressively remove impediments that slow down or prevent the program from meeting milestones. Effectively communicate with team to ensure that all understand program objectives and work to be accomplished.
Work with procurement, logistics and talent mobility teams to communicate project demands and ensure they are in alignment with the schedule of the program and/or availabilities
Maintain/develop our current Lifecycle Management System, using the Earned Value Management System and daily observation of each project
Monitor and conduct analysis to mitigate risks associate with, schedule, cost/budget, and other resources. Provide solutions to the management team. Develop presentation materials and present to the staff and decision makers.
Work closely with the management team to identify gaps and continuously identify opportunities to acquire requisite expertise through certification training, hiring, in-house training or other creative methods. Constantly review the workforce and metrics to evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement across all shipboard trades as well as the quality and safety of the workforce.
Coordinate communication and feedback with customer to resolve technical issues where additional guidance is required. Provide guidance and support to the Site operations manager. Must be able to deconflict conflict in a collaborative working environment and support meetings.
Knowledge/understanding of NAVSEA Standard Items, condition reports, POAM, ship drawings, and incident/injury reporting procedures and processes.

Education and Skills Required:
Demonstrated experience and success shaping, developing, and winning new business with existing and/or new customers including active participation with customer call plans, captures and proposals.
