Job Description
GDIT's SCITES Projects, Integration, and Engineering team is looking for a dedicated individual to develop, maintain, and communicate our highly dynamic development schedules. From proactive operations and maintenance to early integration, engineering, and project management of new technologies, you will closely partner with program leadership teams to shape multiple upcoming efforts.

Our missions and contracts require proactive schedule coordination of non-recurring engineering development projects, and infrastructure development, software, test activities, and mission operations.


As the PIE program’s Master Scheduler/Planner, you will be at the nexus of these activities and will work to construct, maintain, communicate, and effect changes across multiple plans in parallel.


You will develop schedule narratives and risk analysis to identify and communicate schedule risks. You'll be empowered to identify gaps in our project, integration, and engineering plans, implement scheduling process improvements, and drive consistency across our proposals and mission schedules.


As the Master Scheduler/Planner must be able to independently manage, integrate, and provide visibility of program element schedules and major product deliverables within the program IMS.
You should have advanced scheduling expertise with the ability to identify time frames for key project milestones, ensure alignment of sub tier activities for overall project visibility, tracking and completion.


You must have demonstrated working knowledge in the use end-date scheduling techniques and Critical Path Methods (CPM).


You will participate in the direction and management of complex project schedules requiring an interface with multi divisional activities, independently identifying project resource requirements, and integrating the activities into a single collective overall project plan.
The ideal Master Scheduler/Planner must demonstrate the ability to use DCMA 14 Point assessment approach to analyze the schedule, maintain compliance, provide consistency between customer and contractor, provide a baseline for tracking schedule improvement over time, and employ proven metrics that have been successfully implemented across the industry.
On programs with EIA-748 EVMS requirements, the Master Scheduler/Planner will coordinate the preparation of Contract Budget Allocations, process Baseline Change Requests and maintain Program logs (e.g., budget authorization, baseline change request).
Participate in the development of the WBS, OBS, and RAM documentation, maintenance, and configuration control.
They will provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly oversight of schedule and budget integration and performance analysis earned value to the SCITES Projects, Integration, Engineering Program Manager.


The successful candidate must have experience working with Sub-contractors with flow down requirements coordinating their information is received on schedule and flows into GDIT’s EVM system appropriately.


WAYS THE MASTER SCHEDULER PLANNER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Serve as the master scheduler for new programs.
  • Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and present critical path schedules and narratives to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with GDIT managers, supervisors and leads to ensure that program schedules reflect reality and that projects and key deliverables to our customer will be completed on time.
  • Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with Responsible Engineers, DevOps, and Project Managers ensuring up to date and accurate plans.
  • Quickly understand existing and future projects, sequences, and constraints to actively de-conflict issues with several teams across multiple sites and departments.
  • Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and brief potential constraints on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.
  • Learn our DevSecOps, Engineering, Project schedules, and customer operations with sufficient depth such that you can critically evaluate them and offer process improvements.
  • Maintain and perform schedule risk analysis to identify program criticality and uncertainty.
  • They will be involved in the documentation, coordination, validation, approval, reporting, and configuration control of schedule and cost baselines.
  • Afford the development, coordination, commitment, validation, and approval of all schedule and budget baseline revisions within and across all functions to ensure support of all contractual requirements.
  • Provide assessment of impacts of proposed revisions to the Program Schedules and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB). This person independently performs Monte Carlo schedule risk analysis and briefs results to leadership and clients.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or business discipline.
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience implementing and utilizing industry scheduling best practices and procedures in the aerospace defense industry, or federal government.
  • Technical skills: Must have exceptional expertise working with MS Project Web Access (MS Project On-line), MS Project Server, or MS Project Professional. ​
  • 3+ years of experience with project planning and integrated master scheduling.
  • Experience working on a cross-functional team.
  • Experience integrating schedules from third party contractors.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • PMI certified PMP and PMI-SP highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in either a Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) or Scaled Agile Framework  (SAFe) environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work and communicate well with others in a team environment.
  • Able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills including public speaking.
  • Experience with medium to large sized project (4000-8000+ lines).
  • Experience with summary schedule reporting tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Timeline or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet.
  • Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology.
  • Experience performing schedule risk analysis techniques.
  • Experience analyzing schedules using Industry Standard Health Metrics.
  • Understanding of the engineering and solutions delivery lifecycles.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage many levels of program plans and schedules simultaneously.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance preferred. Must be willing to pursue a clearance if not already cleared. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive GDIT missions.
  • Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to other GDIT locations, as necessary.
  • When necessary, must be willing to work long hours and occasional weekends to support proposal or mission critical project timelines.
