General Dynamics Information Technology is searching for DevSecOps Engineer who holds an active DOD Secret Clearance to join Air Carrier Analysis Support (ACAS) System contract at Air Mobility Command - Scott Air Force Base in O'Fallon, Illinois. This position will require 75% tele-work & 25% office.

ACAS is a web-based application designed to support the safety oversight of commercial air carriers currently engaged or desiring business with the DOD. ACAS is essential to providing an integrated operational analysis capability for safety analysis of accidents and incidents, operations, maintenance, financial analysis, and service quality information for both domestic and foreign commercial air carriers supporting DOD.  

Job Description Summary:

  • Automate development and deployment tasks with responsibility for the design, development, and support of platform services.

  • Employ Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodology to enable automation in building, testing, and deployment of applications.

  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to team members as needed to ensure consistency and adherence to standards relevant to agile release cycle.

  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.

  • Operate all non-automated maintenance activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Active DOD Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • CompTIA Security+ or CISSP

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

  • Must possess strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with senior level stakeholders and development teams.

  • Competent communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey complex technical concepts to less technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

  • 75% tele-work with 25% onsite to Scott Air Force in Illinois


  • Build and enhance a CI/CD pipeline using GitLab CI.

  • Automate server configuration using Ansible.

  • Maintain an on-premises development environment consisting of Dell Hardware, VMWare Virtualization, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

  • Install, configure, and maintain many Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.

  • Plan and execute application upgrades through several different environments.

  • Configure Apache Web servers and Apache Tomcat application servers to securely serve custom web applications.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.

  • Write extremely detailed specification, process, and network topology documents.

  • Develop and enhance shell scripts using bash, awk/sed, grep, etc.


  • 5+ years of experience maintaining an on-premises server environment.

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining network services, such as: DNS, SFTP, SMTP, SAMBA, and YUM repositories.

  • Hands on experience working with Maven, NPM, SonarQube, HPE Fortify, Artifactory, and Docker.

  • Experience with PKI authentication, TLS certificates, and managing an internal certificate authority.

  • Experience troubleshooting Single Page Applications (SPAs) and REST APIs using tools like: Browser Dev tools, Postman, cURL, etc.

  • Experience programming in at least one high-level language (Java/Typescript Preferred).

  • Experience securing systems using DISA STIGs within a Risk Management Framework (RMF).
