GDIT’s Military Health IT Team is HIRING a Senior Database Administrator to support GDIT’s Military Health Division across various locations. As a Database Administrator at GDIT you will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation while supporting the customer. You will be trusted to work with a variety of different technologies. In this role, a typical day will include:
Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to complex problems.
May manage the development of database standards, policies, and SOPs and ensures their conformance with the USPS goals and company/customer objectives
Applies knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface) for data services and databases.
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs, and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management.
Prepares system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
Responsible for 24X7 production and maintenance support on a rotation basis for all database stand-alone and clustered instances
Responsible for monitoring database server health, disk performance, monitoring, and history tool
Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years’ experience in database analysis and/or administration
2+ years’ experience working in a DoD environment
Experience working with Maria DBA
Experience with database administration activities including installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery
Excellent verbal and communications skills
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a NACLC (T3)
Areas of emphasis include:
An intermediate or above level of proficiency with MS Office products (E.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Demonstrated experience regularly troubleshooting systems functionality
Demonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as needed

The likely salary range for this position is $77,875 - $130,062, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
