Clinical Research Coordinator

GDIT's Military Health Team is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator to support one or more active research protocols for the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE) located at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX.

Research Mission:

TBICoE supports a network of military treatment facilities and Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers with traumatic brain injury (TBI) research initiatives, including gap-driven analyses and Congressionally-directed programs such as the Section 721 Longitudinal Study of TBI and Section 734 investigation into the effects of blast exposure on Warfighter Brain Health and Performance. TBICoE's extensive internal and external collaborations allow for clinical innovation and research along the continuum of care of TBI: from initial injury to acute and post-acute medical settings, rehabilitation, and ultimately a return to family, community and work or continued duty.  

What You'll Be Doing:

• Working closely and collaboratively with a team of researchers and investigators.
• Responsible for recruitment, screening for study eligibility, explaining the purpose and procedures of assigned studies and obtaining written consent from participants, creating and maintaining written and computerized documentation, ordering and ensuring adequate supplies of study material, conducting evaluations, some of which require technical equipment, preparing IRB/regulatory documents and maintaining regulatory compliance, data management and analysis and contributing to the preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with study participants, other team members, hospital staff and medical providers.
• May have responsibility for daily task assignment and supervision of one or more research assistants. 

What You'll Need (required):

• Master’s Degree in biology, psychology or a related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in human research.
• Competence with Microsoft office applications. 
• US citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a favorable T3 security investigation.

What Would Be Even Better (preferred):

• Background, experience and/or familiarity with active-duty military life and culture is desirable.
