Job Description

GDIT has an opportunity for an experienced information technology expert in Atlanta, GA to join our team supporting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). We are looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer that will focus on building highly available and scalable cloud solutions. The successful Cloud Engineer will also play a key role in delivering and building DevOps related projects. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end solutions in Azure and will be part of engineering team focused on improvements and enhancements to existing software applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ of experience. (Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area is preferred)
  • 5 or more years of experience building a cloud architecture with Azure
  • 5 or more years of experience installing, configuring, automating and monitoring various cloud services
  • Demonstrated experience in transforming development, testing and production environments from on-premises to cloud-based
  • Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, CLI)
  • In depth experience with Azure Active Directory & API Management
  • Deep understanding of implementing DevOps
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies of moderate to high complexity
  • Solid understanding of networking and core Internet Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTPS
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB 

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)  
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience working in an Agile development team is preferred
  • Superior technical documentation skills
  • CI/CD best practices
  • Ability to collaborate with various application teams on the pros and cons of cloud services
