Job Description

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's Shore-Based Training Systems (SBEDS) team is searching for a DevSecOps Software Developer to join their program.

As a DevSecOps Developer, you will be responsible to find ways to deploy a set of software development practices that combines software development (Dev), security (Sec), and information technology operations (Ops) to secure the outcome and shorten the development lifecycle. 

This task focuses on continually engineering, securing, and maintaining the MNF DevSecOps, development, test, and production ADE RAISE 2.0 Environments at MyNavy HR IT Solutions to support the design, development, integration, test and evaluation, and demonstration of all MNF capabilities. 

Duties include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the DevSecOps Strategy to include the definition and goals of the over-arching framework and methodologies
  • Implement CI/CD pipeline utilizing DevSecOps principles and practices to increase automation and reduce human involvement in the process
  • Integrate DevSecOps tools and services (a code repository, an artifact repository, source code analyzer, security scanning, testing tools and an orchestrated integration and delivery platform) to enable automated application building, testing, securing and deployment
  • Develop scalable test frameworks, analyze complex system architecture, and recommend solutions for improving system testability
  • Automate application deployment into varied and complex environments using virtual machines, container technology, Kubernetes, cloud environments, and bare metal servers
  • Architect testable, maintainable Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Facilitate a smooth delivery of a robust and stable product by teaming with customers and vendors
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to the OS, hardware, network, and related software

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; additional experience may be substituted for the degree
  • 5+ years of experience developing DevSecOps solutions.
  • 3+ years of related experience with DevSecOps tools such as Kubernetes, docker or Jenkins.
  • Experience writing Terraform scripts, Helm scripts, Python scripts
  • Experience using GitLab or GitHub, Git, and Gitflow
  • Experience with automated test and scanning tools
  • Experience with secrets management tools such as Vault
  • Experience supporting Production environment (Tier 3 support)
  • Experience with container runtimes and storage solutions
  • Requires ability to work in a collaborative environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Secret Clearance
  • Security+

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of version control systems – Git, SVN, Phire
  • Full SDLC experience – business case and requirements engineering to production support
  • Knowledge of Docker and Gurobi Optimizer
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $112,000 - $168,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
