This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.
THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION. GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support (MTCCS) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training. Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems. Establish /maintain training and exercise networks. Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, coordinates, and executes unit collective training at echelons ranging from Squad to Battalion; Assists unit leadership in planning collective training that will meet their training objectives; identifies any gaps (resource, training, equipment, etc.) and works with the management team to ensure they are filled prior to execution of training.
Serves in a mentorship or observer/controller role when requested.
Gathers observations based on unit actions during the training event and provides input to unit After Action Reviews (AARs).
Maintains a comprehensive repository of relevant TTPs.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and delivery of training programs.
Prepares and presents briefing to organizational senior leaders.
Develops and manages Exercise Life Cycle.
MSEL development experience preferred.
Perform other duties as required.
Participates in special projects as required.
Skills and Abilities:
Superb communication and organizational skills are a must.
Expert in all Microsoft Office products.
Command and Control (C2) Information System proficiency is highly desired.
Extremely proficient in the construct of a five paragraph operations order (OPORD).
AA subject immaterial; BS/BA highly preferred.
Military Education highly desired: at a minimum the Senior Leader Course or an Officer Career Course
6-8 years of experience; Military training and training support at Brigade and above highly preferred.
Position requires a SECRET clearance; candidate MUST be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
