General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) has an opening for the position of Network Senior Manager (Ref# NSM1031VS).
Work Location: Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Duties: Provide technical direction in all aspects of network engineering from network design through implementation, as well as maintaining and upgrading network equipment and architecture. Lead the Network Engineering team in delivering modern, high-performance network architecture, implementation, configuration, and support in LAN, WAN, WLAN, Network Security, and Data Centers. Guide the team through network transformation and modernization. Oversee capacity and performance planning, software upgrades on production platforms, new and renovated facility build-outs, and change management. Manage routine changes, provisioning of services, deployments, fault isolation, service recovery, and incident analysis. Review network characteristics and recommend procurement of, and/or modifications to network components. Use of Cisco routers, switches, & firewalls, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), MS Azure, Linux, and Windows.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Plus 8 years of experience in the job offered or 8 years in a related occupation including Network Engineer, Network Consultant, Technical Architect, Technology Lead, Reference Architecture Director, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 5 years of experience with design & configuration of WAN & LAN; enhancing network performance; and SDN. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing & Switching certification and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Data Center certification required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
