GDIT’s DOJ/OJP team is looking for an experienced Mid-Tier Administrator to join our Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs delivery team. The Administrator will be responsible for supporting multiple applications including but not limited to grants processing applications that handle over $4 billion in grants. The position is expected to interface with multiple development support teams as well as operation system administrators.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage application server environments across multiple domains and technology stacks including WebLogic, ColdFusion, IIS in production, test and development environments.
Comfortable working independently and hands-on to implement solutions to increase environment stability and flexibility.
Interfaces and leads discussions across cross-functional teams, ensure consistency in solution development and implementation.
Develop infrastructure as code strategy to facilitate better patching and deployment options.
Review security scan analysis and work with Security Architect and Security Operations Team to implement mitigation strategies or provide risk acceptance justifications.
Review security scan results and assess criticality and coordinate mediation strategies with Development, IT Security, and management points of contact.
Regularly reports current status of System Administration projects.
Understand common development design patterns and provide guidance and insight into best practices for stable deployment and patching methodologies.
Coordinate impacts to network and operations environments with development team.
Provide informed solutions for application administration improvements that improve mean time between failure and reduce mean time to recover.
Qualifications and Skills
BA/BS and 6+ of Experience required, per Job Category.
Proven experience in application server platforms such as Weblogic, ColdFusion, Apache.
Comfortable in Unix/Linux and windows environments.
Understanding of cloud native application architecture and design experience including API Gateways, Microservice development, CloudFormation.
Code deployment experience using GITHub and Azure, Ansible
Network and network security concepts (firewall, network port and protocols, DNS, etc.)
General knowledge of SQL, RDBMS (i.e. MS SQLServer, MySQL) and NoSQL Database solutions (i.e. MongoDB etc.)
Familiarity with WSO2, Moodle/PHP
Contract Requires US Citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Agency specific Public Trust clearance
