Job Description

GDIT has this NEW and exciting Opportunity! Join GDIT and lead the way for today and the future. GDIT is looking for an Application Management, SME to do the following:

  • The Application Management SME will advise and direct the contractor team managing enterprise and mission applications to ensure the availability, performance, and security of all applications within the JSP portfolio.  The Application Management SME must possess proven technical ability in the management, deployment, and sustainment of COTS, GOTS, and custom-built applications.

    Education Requirement: Bachelor's in Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems, or 5 recent years of documented experience relevant to this key position.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage small to large applications in a complex environment.
  • Experience in managing mission critical applications configured to support resource relocations when needed.
  • Experience in event management of applications experiencing service impact.
  • Knowledge of application management on Windows Server 2012 and higher and Redhat Linux 7.0 and higher.
  • Minimum three years of work related experience in the following areas: networks, physical and virtual servers, systems management, public key Infrastructure, IT customer support, VMWare technologies, database administration (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle), web server and application administration (IIS and Apache), application security, and project management.
  • Knowledge of current information technologies, computing platforms, and network systems, such as: cloud computing, server virtualization, unified communications, collaboration tools, and enterprise services.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active DoD Top Secret
  • Information Assurance (IA) Certification: DoD 8570 IAT II certification. (Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification: Recent and relevant technical certification.
  • Possess proven technical ability in the architecture, deployment, and sustainment of COTS, GOTS, and custom-built applications.
  • Five years of progressively more responsible experience in computer system engineering; hardware and software analysis, system integration, and system maintenance. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical subjects to nontechnical staff are required. 
  • Minimum three years of experience in the following computer related areas: Networks, Servers, and systems management; Public Key Infrastructure, IT customer support; computer server and workstation installation, diagnosis and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design and management; system maintenance; information technology project management; Information System Testing. 
  • Knowledge of a range of current information technologies, computing platforms, and network systems, such as: cloud computing, blade server, unified communications, collaboration tools, cryptographic systems, social networks tools, enterprise services bus. 
  • 3 years’ experience securing Operating Systems to comply with DISA STIGs; network experience configuring and maintaining desktop firewalls. 
  • Experience configuring security policies to protect system applications. 
  • ITILv4 certification preferred
