VMware Systems Administrator, Sr Advisor

We are looking for a Systems Administrator Advisor to develop and maintain functional and secure vCenter Infrastructure. In this position you will mentor a team of engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our VMware Infrastructure for our client. In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of VMware Enterprise administration and architecture.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Design, deploy and optimize VMware 7.0 Infrastructure

• Configure and install IOS software, servers, and VMware software updates

• Monitor VMware performance and storage integrity

• Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing Infrastructure

• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

• Mentor team members on technical issues

• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)

• Troubleshoot complex Infrastructure problems involving a wide variety technologies to include NetApp, NEXUS and VMware

• Maintain complete technical documentation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. An additional 4 years of experience can substitute for degree

• Required Experience: 8+ years of related Enterprise Administration experience

• Required Certifications: COMPTIA Security + and VMware VCP Data Center

• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

• Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Design, build and troubleshoot VMware deployments

• Solid background in VMware administration and architecture

• Firm understanding of Horizon and Dell Management Suite

• Familiarity with access control models and VMware security

• Experience with VMware diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. vRealize Operations Manager, Cisco InterSight and NetApp Systems Manager

• Other duties are assisting with Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

• Preferred Skills: 

• General knowledge with writing network automation scripts

• Working knowledge of VMware Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

• Experience with NetApp Storage

• Experience with NEXUS switches Layer 2

• Experience with vRealize Operations Manager

• Location: On Customer Site in Newington, VA
