GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

An I2TS3 VMWare Systems Administrator will: 

  • Create and configure VMs with VMware vSphere
  • Define and document standard operating procedures
  • Assist with capacity forecasting for the virtual environment, including storage resources
  • Actively ensure peak levels of systems and infrastructure uptime
  • Implement a monitoring platform to gauge the health of key infrastructure
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support
  • Work directly with System Owners to resolve issues related to virtual hosting platform
  • Responsible for engaging and managing vendor escalations, as required
  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware preferred, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of virtualization concepts and functional working skills with various virtualization technologies (create/modify virtual machines, create storage groups, snapshot, clone/export, etc.)
  • Experience with patching virtual infrastructure (ESXi hosts, virtual appliances)
  • Up to 10 years client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, advanced troubleshooting
  • Good Understanding of basic networking (Routing/Switching/VLANS/Firewalls)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining VMware hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines
  • Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux based server platforms
  • Familiarity with storage technologies: SAN, iSCSI, NAS, NFS
  • Must be a motivated self-starter that can take lead of projects, tasks and any challenges that come up 

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with Cisco UCS
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Recovery
  • Experience with NetApp, HP 3PAR storage solutions

Certification(s):

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  • Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • Desired Computing Environment certification: VCP6

Security Clearance:

  • TS/SCI required

Additional:

  • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
  • Travel may be required in support of customer’s mission requirements.

High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience.
