As a Network Engineer, supporting the customer, you will be trusted to perform moderately complex network designs; performing upgrades to limited segments of the network, and perform routine network operations and maintenance (O&M). In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Perform routine to moderately complex network designs and upgrades
  • Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network and assess impact on network performance using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being upgraded and the specifications for network interfaces; insure effective integration and optimal network performance
  • Provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach required to meet user requirements
  • Utilize network analysis tools to identify and resolve performance problems in the network
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels, to include creating troubleshooting procedures
  • Employ strong analytical and conceptual skills to create original concepts and theories for various projects
  • Provide basic explanation of technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences


  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Customer’s on premise infrastructure (i.e. virtualization (VMWare), physical networking (Cisco), storage (NetApp), Windows (Active Directory, SCCM, etc.)
  • Enterprise System Engineer maintains a strong awareness of technical trends in information technology, develops and maintains a strong awareness of on-going IT projects and business unit requirements.
  • Experience with Customer’s Program Management Framework (PMF)
  • Candidate will have a diverse IT background, strong hands-on technical experience, organizational and interpersonal skills working as part of a team and at all times in an autonomous manner, mentoring others as needed.
  • Candidate will have demonstrated competencies with enterprise solutions architecture, technical leadership and strategy, enterprise data and analytic engineering, enterprise software development and SysOps/DevOps.


  • CCIE or other networking certification
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering solutions to satisfy High Availability and Business Continuity requirements.

Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to complex problems.

Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.

Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

Provides advanced guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.

May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
