HOW A LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Plan, direct, and manage day-to-day activities of the engineering team 

• Develop systems engineering processes for the planning, integration, test, configuration management, and deployment of customer applications 

• Provide technical services to identify, test, and document hardware and software solutions 

• Perform COTS hardware and software market analysis and  

• Propose upgrades or new hardware and software items to current programs in Engineering Change Proposals 

• Create status reports and briefings 

• Assume responsibility for engineering projects and provide input and status to the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) 

• Represent the GDIT team in providing solutions to complex technical problems 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Minimum Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.  [Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI) / Tier 5 (T5)].  Candidates must maintain the clearance. 
• Ten (10+) years of applicable work experience as a systems engineer  

• BA/BS in an engineering or computer science field 
• Familiarity with cloud architectures, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) 
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and with teammates and stakeholders 
• Experience developing and supporting system integration processes, such as: Configuration Management, Software Release Management, Patch Management, Change Management, and Deployment Management 
• Experience managing Integration and Test environments 
• Experience with cloud service delivery and application migrations (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS Cloud are preferred) 
• IAT Level II

Preferred Skills:

• Experience providing systems engineering to DoD organizations in the NIPRNET and SIPRNET environments. 
• Master’s degree in a technical field 
• Five (5+) years of experience in the DoD with systems engineering focus 
• Experience implementing ServiceNow (including tool integration, automation and runbooks) 
• Experience implementing a Single-Pane-of-Glass (SPoG) or centralized “dashboard of dashboards” 
• Experience implementing automation to create operational efficiencies across the enterprise
• Level III Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) certification (DoD 8570.01-M) 
• One or more computer environment certifications (e.g., EMC, Microsoft, Juniper, Cisco, VMware, IBM, Oracle, etc.) 
• Cloud Certifications 
• ITILv3/4 Foundation
