GDIT is seeking an Implementation Project Engineer to help support our GSM-ETI TO35 program. This position has the ability to work remote full-time with occasional travel to the office. NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding.
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is working on many projects supporting the installation of equipment to modernize and sustain the DISN. The Implementation Project Engineer writer will analyze all GFI related to a particular implementation requirement or activity at the designated implementation site and develop implementation engineering solutions to support the project. This GFI includes, but is not limited to System Engineering Documents (SEDs), Site Planning and Design (SP&D), Circuit Planning & Design (CP&D), MSS, TSOs, Major Bill of Material (MBOM), Incidental Bill of Materials (IBOM), configuration standards, wavelength plans, and Site Build Lists (SBLs). Examples of Implementation Projects could include, but are not limited to, MILCONs, Relocations, Circuit Transitions, Timing & Sync Modernization, or Sustainment efforts.
Implementation Project Engineer roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Meet with DISA and other stakeholders to understand project priorities and report on status
Develop detailed network engineering solutions to meet project requirements and constraints
Identify, resolve, and provide options to resolve and/or escalate implementation activity issues to leadership that could affect overall project schedule
Be available, via phone or email, to respond and answer questions from Project Managers, Logistics, Engineers and IE leadership on ongoing implementation activities
Coordinate with Engineers, Program Managers and others for properly completing the implementation activities
Update MSS with required information as appropriate
Maintain current status of project engineering activities
Provide technical documentation and other administrative support for implementation activities
Active Interim DoD Secret clearance. Candidates without a clearance may be considered contingent upon their ability to complete the clearance process.
Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
5 years hands-on experience in the design and development of voice, video, radio frequency, and/or data communications networks
Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
