At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Logistics Analyst, you will be trusted to work independently and deliver agile solutions. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Maintaining good communication with the team
  • The Sponsor Mission Center conducts high quality, impactful, and secure operations, and analysis to inform policy makers and advance US priorities.  The Center partners with other Mission Centers and Directorates across Sponsor Organization, Community counterparts, and OGAs.
  • The current team has four members who provide the full scope of logistical support, enabling all facets of the Sponsor supply chain.  Responsible for secure domestic shipping, this group uses commercial transportation multiple times per week and Sponsor truck runs 2x monthly to ship to most MC locations and receives regular deliveries
  • The Logistics Generalist must be able to work independently with minimal oversite and respond professionally to Customer inquiries and requirements. Contractor will have Customer facing interactions utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills to contribute to the team’s success
  • Work a standard 8-hour work schedule between 0700-1800, M-F
  • Assist with local and domestic office moves – able to TDY to domestic field locations with one week’s notice (desired, not required)
  • The Logs Generalist must have or can obtain basic knowledge of: Sponsor Financial Management System, Access and Entitlements System and Messaging System
  • The Logs Generalist should have or can obtain intermediate skill level of: Sponsor’s Asset Tracking software, Branch Accountable Property database, office supply ordering system and internal shipping and tracking system
  • The Logistics Generalist will receive and validate plaque request requirements from Customers and submit the to the Business Operating Group (BOC) for production. Contractor will be responsible for tracking and receiving plaques upon completion and coordinate delivery to requestor in a timely manner. 
  • With minimal oversight, the Logistics Generalist will coordinate with Sponsor Fleet Managers and GSA for the prompt physical pickup and return of Center government leased vehicles.
  • Contractor will become familiar with GSA Leased Vehicle policies. Contractor will ensure records of transfer are provided to Center Accountable Officer for prompt and accurate update of Sponsor Fleet accountable records. The contractor will also be responsible for updating vehicle mileage in the appropriate system that will serve as a reminder tool to update vehicle records monthly. Contractor will keep an accurate record of Center GSA vehicles and de-conflict Customer requirements pending receipt of vehicle requests
  • The Logistics Generalist will coordinate the transportation of goods through established transportation processes, arrange for the transportation, shipment, and receipt of materials using established guidelines where possible. They will be required to determine the best shipping method based on Customer, cargo type and classification, and consignee requirements
  • The Logistics Generalist will receive incoming actions and review client databases for timely submission and follow-up with Building Operations Center to produce plaques for prompt delivery to requestors. Contractor will respond to Customer requirements professionally and ensure the Logistics team is informed as requirements arise
  • Previous experience as an accountable officer who provided relevant support in the following areas is desired but not mandatory: packaging, accountable property, and vehicle (fleet) management. The contractor will fulfill property inventories and reconcile discrepancies


  • The position requires intermediate skills in Sponsor procurement system, messaging systems, Sponsor internal shipment tracking system, Sponsor asset tracking software, products and services catalog, Sponsor office supply ordering system, branch accountable property database, Microsoft SharePoint, price estimate tool, basic Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, internal communication system, Sponsor asset management authorities’ system, Adobe and Microsoft Office.  The office is willing to provide some on the job training upon arrival for specific inventory database transactions related to accountable property.
  • Proficient with sponsor asset tracking software and branch accountable property database as well as having the capability to utilize Microsoft Excel for inventory controls is preferred
  • Pallet jack skills requested, and forklift skills not required
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment when needed


  • HS Diploma
  • TS/SCI w/polygraph
  • Must be able to lift boces (50 lbs in a single lift), help move safes with safe dollies, and to package for shipping and property turn-in (PTI)
  • Must be able to cover multiple Washington Metro Area buildings based on ad hoc requirements of Customer
