We are seeking a Senior Security Officer to join our team to provide multi-disciplined security support to ensure mission success through analysis and management of the security program at one of our Chesapeake, VA locations. As a senior security officer supporting the Department of Defense (DOD), you will be trusted to support a variety of Naval contracts and build key relationships with your government counterparts. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Building relationships with the internal GDIT security organization as well as relevant government security personnel.

  • Administering and coordinating facility security activities for a DOD industrial facility to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Providing security relevant guidance to managers and employees regarding security regulations and procedures.

  • Provide day-to-day security support that includes continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and provide appropriate recommendations for revising and improving security policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Conducting security related training and briefings commensurate with the program requirements and work performed.

  • Assisting employees with security clearance requirements, physical security support, and government installation access.

  • Investigating security violations to determine corrective action recommendations.

  • Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and management staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

  • 5-8 years of related experience in facility or industrial security administration, preferably in the government contracting industry.

  • Competency in using automated systems, both internal and government, and building relevant reports, as needed.

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
