Support migration of applications and services to cloud solutions
Review stress / performance testing results and make recommendations for corrective actions
Support the development and management implementation / deployment plans for a nationwide rollout of software platforms to include support for data migration
Consult with the agency IT staff to analyze options to migrate systems from on-from on-prem servers to the Cloud
Develop recommendations for application and infrastructure performance monitoring including the use of dashboards and automated alerts
Support technology adoption of software
Assist in prototyping new software solutions and the migration and integration of data
Manage the integration of the software platforms with other agency applications
Review/analyze application architecture documentation and identify anomalies
Evaluate existing agency architecture used to host existing software applications and provide recommendations for upgrading the architecture including cloud migrations or enhancements
Analyze application behavior in virtual environments to fully utilize the benefit of cloud technologies
Apply technical knowledge to design and develop departmental solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and/or custom hardware and software components.
Presents findings to customers and senior staff assigned to projects.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A degree specializing in Engineering, Mathematics or Science is preferred. Minimum of 20 years (18 years with Master’s Degree) experience including extensive experience with the research existing and emerging technologies, design, architect, and implement complex IT solutions across heterogeneous environments. Demonstrated experience with multiple hardware and software environments and complex enterprise environments. Must have experience leading multiple projects through the Software Development process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience in organizing the development effort of a systems solution. Experience with a variety of hardware platforms including mainframes, x86, RISC, distributed platforms, desktops, servers, networks, and mobile devices in both on-prem and Cloud environments. Experience with tools such as Terraform and Ansible scripts as well as automated testing tools and SQL databases.
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 18, 2022 or the start date, if after January 18. Individuals who work in or reside in Florida, Montana, Tennessee, Texas, or work outside of the United States may be excluded from this requirement.
The likely salary range for this position is $148,000 - $222,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
