We have opportunities for several Java software engineers at various levels to join our team supporting the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB). The NPDB improves the quality of health care in the U.S. by requiring state licensing boards, hospitals and other health care entities, and professional societies to identify healthcare practitioners who engage in adverse or unprofessional behavior; and to restrict the ability of physicians, dentists, and other health care practitioners to move from state to state without disclosure or discovery of their previous medical malpractice payment and adverse action history.
Requirements range from a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 1+ years for Associate level positions up to a BS and 8+ years for Advisor level.
Working within an agile software team to tackle long and short term projects
Requirements gathering and refinement
Software design, utilizing object-oriented principles, flowcharts, diagrams, etc.
Web application server concepts and frameworks (e.g., Servlets/JSP, AJAX)
SQL, JDBC, and relational databases
Object-oriented design principles
Experienced in Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Model-View-Controller (MVC) or reactive concepts and related frameworks (e.g., KnockoutJS, AngularJS)
More experienced candidates should have experience with estimation, scheduling, and leading small groups of to solve complex tasks
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.
