Tasks include:

  • Provide daily maintenance for audiovisual equipment, systems design, and installation video systems and network Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) equipment for NMUSA users.
  • Utilize CISCO VTC systems, Medialon Show Control, Planar Video Systems, QSYS, digital audio processing systems, video and UHB extenders, video projections, and Christie Projection Systems.
  • Use both new and existing hardware and software packages as directed.
  • Provide audio support for show control functions and video production services, both recording and taping using Medialon.
  • Tear down and remove old exhibit materials (related to information technology) as well as move in, set up, and install audiovisual equipment.
  • Attend technical meetings and serve as the point of contact for audio/video projects at the various NMUSA identified locations.
  • Maintain a scheduling function that supports the various Program and Staff Offices and provide usage analysis by organization on a monthly basis.
  • Provide training to users on all video equipment and how to make calls to any location within the CMH or Government video community as well as international calls.
  • Perform scheduling functions to include inquiries, cancellations, and confirmation in support of video events for video teleconferences.
  • Provide mobile uplink service as required.
  • Support upgrades or changes in configuration of the Video Network to ensure a highly reliable and cost effective system.
  • Execute a NMUSA A/V checklist to ensure 551 systems on the NMUSA commercial network, including the Experiential Learning, Center (ELC), Army Theater, Medal of Honor Experience (MOHE), all common areas, and exhibit galleries, as well as all subsystems, networking equipment, and all AV/IT components are functioning daily prior to opening of the museum and at the end of each day.
  • Utilize NMUSA checklist to perform daily quality control inspections of all 551 AV/IT components (to include interactives, kiosks, screens, monitors) in all NMUSA galleries including the ELC, Common Areas, Army Theater, and the MOHE, to ensure proper operational capability and condition, and make repairs as necessary.
  • Utilize NMUSA checklist to perform quality control inspections of the 14 interactive pads along the Army Trail to ensure proper operational capability and condition.
  • Make repairs and log information into the Trouble Ticketing Tracking System.
  • Perform biannual projector preventative maintenance of all 92 projectors located in the exhibits areas, Army Theater, and the ELC.
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed and the appropriate manual is used to ensure bulbs and filters are installed correctly when replacing.
  • Maintain exhibit lighting in galleries and show controlled lighting in Army Theater, Veteran’s Hall, Lobby, and ELC.
  • Follow correct procedures and usage of appropriate manual to replace lamps and ballasts, clean fixtures, and re-aim and refocus fixtures, approximately 1700 fixtures.
  • Review new exhibit concepts and designs, provide input reference operational capability, and support installation thereof.
  • Support internal and external events as requested (on average, two external events per month).
  • Provide an inventory of all technology equipment used in support of off-site events that includes a status of the equipment and if repair is needed.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology

Qualifications

  • 10 years of audio visual experience and/or experience with either QSC (Q-SYS) or ZeeVee Audio
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including unique technical terminology required for the performance of these duties and functions.
  • Must have the ability to operate a computer and be familiar with using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Certification Requirements:

Certification in at least one (1) of the following:

  • Certified Technology Specialist Certification,
  • Crestron AV Certification, Extron Certification,
  • CISCO TelePresence Solutions Certification
  • Medialon Control Systems Certification Training is desirable.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) at time of start

 Work Location:

  • National Museum of the United States Army, Fort Belvoir, Virginia
  • Contract requires coverage between the hours of 6:00am-6:00pm 7 days per week, working 8 hour shifts. Shift times can include the following depending on which shift is available:
  • Shift 1 - M, T, W 0600-1400 and Th, F 0600-1400
  • Shift 2 - M, T, W 0600-1400 and Th, F 0800-1600
  • Shift 3 - M, T, W, 0900-1700 and Th, F 1000-1800
  • Shift 4 - M, T, W 0900-1700 and Sat, Sun 0600-1400
  • Shift 5 - M, T, W 1000-1800 and Sat, Sun 1000-1800
  • Some flexibility may be required to cover when others are out of office
  • Telework only under special circumstances and must authorized by the government

 

Travel: 

  • Occasional travel may be required – normally less than 10%.
