GDIT 's military health team is HIRING a Statistician to support the 59th Medical Wing (MDW), located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers.
Create and incorporate predictive analytics/data modeling modules to improve the existing software solution.
Lead the strategic, statistical thinking and provide valuable insights to the Development team in architecting and implementing data solution.
Utilize advanced statistical techniques to create high performing predictive models and creative analyses to address business objectives and client needs.
Tests new statistical analysis methods, software, frameworks and modeling techniques for continual improvement of the developed solution.
Evaluate and investigate frameworks for Algorithm development and Model enhancements for possible long-term platform design.
Demonstrated ability to assist/perform preclinical and clinical study analysis
What You’ll Need (required):
PhD in Bio-Statistics/Statistics/Mathematics with 5 years’ experience
Strong mathematical, probabilistic and statistical analysis skills
Experience in SQL.
Prior experience with at least one of the programming language: R, Python, Java, Scala or Matlab/Octave.
Experience in any of the following frameworks: Hadoop, Spark, SAS, and SPSS.
Experience in any of the following visualization and reporting tools including, but not limited to, QlikView or Tableau.
Must have hands-on implementation of various advanced models, leveraging board spectrum of statistical, machine learning and cognitive computing methods.
Experience with any of the Machine Learning libraries.
Experience with real time analytics and planning applications.
Strong expertise in statistical modeling techniques such as Regression, Classification, Tree based models (Random Forests and GBM), Cluster Analysis, Exploratory Data Analysis, Feature Engineering, Gaussian distribution, Model Validation and Optimization.
Demonstrated communication skills with an ability to communicate ideas effectively to stakeholders in layman or statistical terms.
