General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an entry-level Information Systems Security Officer to provide assistance to the Government on IT and information system security issues affecting the mission. In this important role, you will assist with information technology issues such as malicious code eradication, configuration management, and the assessment and authorization of our customer’s current and future systems. To succeed, it will require initiative, sound judgement, effective communication and team building skills to implement best information system security practices, policies, and technologies. Participates in special projects as required.
**Position requires an active in-scope TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.**
AS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional, training or work experience or higher and 0-3 years’ information technology security, information systems security, information assurance engineering experience or HS and 4 years’ experience.
Employees must possess and maintain, or obtain within six months from their arrival date, required IAT Level I compliant certifications (A+CE, Network+CE, , CCNA-Security or SSCP) or higher.
Familiarity with conducting research and analysis:
Familiarity with network and information system security principles and best practices;
Familiarity with controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and appropriately transferring data (uploading/downloading) between information systems at varying classification levels;
Ability to engender rapport with the military, civilians, and other contractors at all levels;
Ability to prioritize tasks
Familiarity with applicable agency, IC, DoD policies, procedures and operating instructions related to Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Management (IT/IA/IM)
