GDIT is seeking a Senior Training and Development Consultant to join our team in support of The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office of Financial Resources (OFR) to implement an Acquisition Management System (AMS).   GDIT will acquire, configure, implement, and provide go-live support, providing a low-code commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution.

To implement the AMS, the overall team will be engaged in all aspects of the deployment from requirements gathering, architectural design, software configuration and development, testing, implementation and deployment support, change management, training, data migration, data management, and post go-live support. 

This position is for full time employment with GDIT.  Business hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.  All work is remote with travel as requested to Atlanta, GA locations at both GDIT (2 Corporate Blvd., Suite 100 Atlanta, GA 30329) and CDC (2939 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341). 

Responsibilities:

Design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. May analyze training needs.

  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Able to independently develop training curriculums, training schedules/calendars, topics to be covered, identify subject matter experts, and intended audiences.
  • Conduct planning sessions for training initiatives with the CDC center’s representatives to provide applications’ end-users with comprehensive training services and learning materials. 
  • Manage logistics for training sessions and organize scheduled sessions e.g. compile invitee lists, send out invitation, publish announcements and manage communications with attendees. 
  • Provide technical instruction and facilitate training sessions using a variety of venues and forums, able to utilize commonly used remote computing and communications technologies such as Webinars, telephone conference calls, email, live streaming, recorded videos/streaming, or other popular multimedia and social media technologies.
  • Provide training materials using a variety of media formats that include electronic/printable documents, user manuals, Power Point slides, diagrams, computer screen simulators, workflow design tools, multi-media Web sites, interactive electronic learning modules, recorded videos and live streaming. 
  • Ensure all training presentations and materials are fully compliant with applicable IT security and CDC 508 accessibility policies, regulations and standards.
  • Review all learning materials for completeness and accuracy, and obtain approvals ahead of scheduled training.  
  • Conduct post-training assessments and follow-up surveys to collect quantitative and qualitative metrics intended to measure the effectiveness of the training, content utility, quality of materials, and professionalism of the presentation. 
  • Collect data elements and feed-back responses exclusively from attendees.
  • Digitally record live training presentations and store them for purposes of on-demand access.
  • Develop, maintain and populate an electronic repository for training artifacts e.g. multimedia audio/video trainings, instructional materials, presentation slides, hand-outs, post-training evaluations, training reports and other documentation.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience as a Training Specialist of IT systems, applications and COTS software is a must.
  • Should have a working knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office 365 software
  • Ability to obtain public trust clearance
