Primary Responsibilities of the Database Administrator:
Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation.
Also responsible the installation, configuration, administration and management of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.
Monitor and optimize the performance of the production SQL databases.
Provide support to development team throughout the Software Development lifecycle (SDLC). Implement and troubleshoot triggers, views, stored procedures and data integrity constraints.
Ability to implement, maintain and troubleshoot SQL Server HA and database monitoring.
Identify and troubleshoot database issues and the ability to analyze, design, build, test and implement solutions.
Perform scheduled and nonscheduled database backups and recovery with Microsoft SQL Server SSMS, or SQL CMD. Strong understanding of database schema object management, data modeling and architecture.
Expert understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
Experience with SQL clustered environments.
Exposure to Resource Governor, Tuning Advisor, SQL Profiler and Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor.
Experience with applying DISA SQL STIGs.
Experience with virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
Solid understanding of Windows AD, DNS and Group Policy.

- MS SQL Certified
Required Experience Knowledge
- Three years of experience SQL Server 2016 in the High Availability Groups (HA)
- Three years of experience with SQL Server 2016 Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)
- Experience building SQL Server 2016 HA and FCI Instances remotely
- Experience maintaining SQL Server 2016 databases that support SharePoint
- Experience maintaining and installing database that support third party applications like SolarWinds, System Center (SC) Configuration Manager, and MS SC Operations Manager
- Experience with network storage solutions
Desired Certification/Experience:
- MCSE
- Experience with MS Power BI and ability to extract data from MS Excel Workbooks and query SQL server databases
Education Requirements:
Higher Education Degree in Information Technology, or related field; or commensurate level of experience based on position level (Associate, Journeyman, Senior, etc….)
Clearance: Interim Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Shift Work: Not expected on regular basis however may occassionally be required to provide after-hours support
Travel: Less than 10%
