GDIT is looking for a Systems Engineer to support their client located in Washington, DC. The Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Nice to Have: Network Management knowledge Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of a mid-size (400+) Windows Server infrastructure, to include, oversight of Active Directory 2012, Exchange Online. Performs advanced troubleshooting of system issues. automate tasks using PowerShell. Work independently to resolve issues and when needed engage vendor support. Perform email content searches, litigation holds, manage email connectors. Message tracking; email Routing, Mail flow rules and security &Compliance. Write and implement change management requests. Installs and configures systems per approved change requests. Coordinate and communicate changes and major issues with the client and team members. Work through issues including interacting across support teams to isolate the root cause of problems. Provides incident resolution and break/fix situations, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical support. Evaluate, install, maintain, and troubleshoot application services on Windows servers. Provides account management and access control. Essential Job Functions - Provides tier 3 support for escalations from Help Desk - Sound experience with Office 365 Management Suite - ADFS 3.0, Connect, Azure AD, o365 Management Suite, Azure IAAS - Experience with Active Directory, Active Directory Federated Services, AAD Connect - Analyze Office 365 service reports, auditing log, and third party service reports - Knowledge and experience troubleshooting these platforms: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, SharePoint, Skype for Business, Mail-flow and Connectors, Outlook client configuration, PowerShell, SMTP, SSL/TLS - Must be a part of 24X7 on call rotations - Must be able to support after hours and weekend escalations as needed - Other duties as assigned - Resolves highly complex questions or problems regarding system configurations/setup, product functionality and/or debugs enhancements - Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers - Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space - Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products - Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery - Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
