This position is the Subject Matter Expert that requires Enterprise Network Architecture, Development, and Implementation experience.  The position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of Load Balancing and F5 systems; and is involved in the next generation load balancing capability and is part of a Utility Cloud Support and Sustainment team.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Subject Matter Expert supporting the Maryland customer, you will be trusted to work on Load Balancing, F5 systems, and network configurations.


  • Provide network engineering guidance and support to ICE ITE-specific infrastructure.

  • Application delivery is a key goal of the load balancing initiative that is part of this position, so a clear understanding of application service delivery and experience configuring networks to support highly available application delivery is required. 

  • There must be a clear understanding of LLB and GLB architectures.

  • Will be involved with creating and maintaining IP schemas.

  • Must have an ability to architect and manage multi-server virtual environments.

  • Must be able to develop and maintain detailed documentation, to include but not limited to installation and deployment guidelines, HW/SW configuration documentation, GLB and LLB documentation, SOP development, admin and service model developments, knowledge articles, and capacity management documentation. 

  • Creates flowcharts and diagrams as needed.


  • Experience with Cisco, Arista, and F5 Load Balancer.

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Load Balancing (GLB amd LLB)

  • High level of experience with F5 systems

  • In-depth experience configuring networks

  • Must currently have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with Poly

  • One of the following DoD approved certifications is required to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP+ CE, GCIH, GCED, CCNP Security, CySA+, or GICSP. NOTE: the certification requirement must be current before an individual can join the task.

  • Must be available for on-call support.

  • Must be open to the possibility of travel (CONUS & OCONUS), anticipate less than 10%.

  • Educational & Experience Requirements:

o    A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty (20) years of relevant experience.
o    An Associate’s degree plus fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
o    A Bachelor’s degree plus ten (10) years of relevant experience.
o    A Master’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience.
o    A PhD plus three (3) years of relevant experience.
