Summary

GDIT is looking for an eager and energetic Unix Systems Administrator to join our team supporting the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) out of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. The Unix Systems Administrator will be a part of a diverse team supporting a globally distributed information system.

Job Description

  • Maintain daily operation and incident resolution of virtual machines, operating systems, and applications to provide optimum performance and system availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, and by users
  • Provide Tier 1 or 2 support in an enterprise level, globally distributed environment
  • Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer, and document UNIX and Linux systems, software, systems-related products, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on systems for proactive monitoring such as space usage, deleting log files, dump files, and error correcting
  • Create, document, and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain, and patch system environments and its software
  • Develop, recommend, document, implement, and maintain system management policies, procedures, and standards
  • Create, modify, delete, and document user accounts
  • Complete and maintain DISA STIGs
  • Have the desire and aptitude for learning and rapidly mastering new applications and technology

Education

BA/BS or equivalent years of experience

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of systems administration experience
  • Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • 8570 certification: IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)
  • RHCSA, Linux+ or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire date
