VTC Technician requires excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as thorough knowledge of VTC hardware, software and network connections.
VTC technicians must have expertise in scheduling VTC sessions in VTC bridges, as well as hands-on experience with debugging the interoperation of VTC bridges and end points.
Typical duties include:
Review VTC user request, schedule and manage VTC sessions.
Provide pre-conference testing and setup for video teleconferences and/or meetings.
Ensure full interoperability and a seamless connection between all internal and external systems to include, but not limited to, DISN Video Services - Global (DVS-G), NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining VTC endpoints
Installing and configuring VTC application and system software and upgrades
Analyze, test, modify and manage VTC infrastructure, such as MCUs and gatekeepers.
Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network connectivity issues
Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines
Provide technical support and training to end-users.
Five or more years of experience supporting and troubleshooting VTCs in Government environment, as well as troubleshooting and fixing VTC hardware and software (e.g., Cisco, Polycom).
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education on a case-by-case basis.
