Customer Relations personnel respond to customer requests and office requirements as directed by the respective branch chiefs.  

They answer questions concerning the processing and status of Personnel investigation requests, make eligibility determinations on SCI crossover cases, and respond to customer requests and office requirements as directed by the Chief/Customer Relations Branch (CRB) or PSD management, which are not within the purview of PSD's core business areas but support mission requirements.  Customer Relations Personnel are primary points of contact for reciprocity crossover cases. 

Customer Relations tasks:

1. Interface between Government agencies and industrial organizations for obtaining, processing, verifying, and
disseminating personnel security information and access to customer programs
2. Maintain accurate personnel data in all files
3. Update the customer database
4. Conduct an annual file audit
5. Maintain accuracy of customer’s database records, e.g., briefing and debriefing dates
6. Prepare, as directed, cases for expedited requests from PSO and/or PSM
7. Attentive to detail
8. Conduct personnel clearance verification
9. Able to use multiple IC databases
10. Maintain confidentiality of assets and information pertaining to personnel security
11. Able to elicit, articulate, and document information in a well-organized manner
12. Participates in special projects as required.


a.    Demonstrated experience with current version of Microsoft Office Suite

b.    Demonstrated customer service and telephone skills;

c.     Ability to work independently on assigned tasks. 

d.    Database data entry skills; 

e.    Ability to learn various databases during performance of the contract; and

f.     Prioritize competing tasks and possess effective time management skills.

g.    Experience in security personnel processing  related to background investigations;  

h.    Knowledge of ICD 704 and E.O. 12968 guidelines.


High School diploma or GED

2 years of relevant experience
