GDIT has an opportunity for an ICAM Architect working with a large line of business within GDIT that is currently supporting multiple contracts for the Defense Information Service Agency in the DC Metro area. We are seeking energetic, talented individuals that have a desire to help transform customer requirements supporting the DHS Enterprise Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) contract.

The Architect organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems.  Responsible for coordinating with other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.  Conducts capacity and performance analysis, and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.  Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessments. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

Able to perform direct and advisory roles in oversight, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives.  Responsible for the design, planning, & integration of various database development efforts for a variety of applications.  Advise management and team members of risks associated with technologies and implementation approaches and identify methods of risk mitigation. Conduct problem resolution and identify process improvements.  Interface as needed at multiple levels of management, providing information and thought leadership in technical areas.

Specific examples include but are not limited to:

  • Create custom image containers with specific configurations
  • Create containerized virtual networks, volume mappings, and port passthroughs
  • Automate deployment and management of containers via automation scripting and technologies such as Ansible
  • Troubleshoot issues across the enterprise to include containerization issues
  • Create containerization architecture that can scale or shrink “on-demand”
  • Ability to navigate Linux CLI, troubleshoot, create services, update OS, etc.
  • Create service stacks which can easily be duplicated across the enterprise in an automated manner
  • Implement automation orchestration to replace repetitive tasks which are being conducted manually
  • Provide recommendations for improvement across the enterprise as well as migration strategies from legacy to containerized and automated platforms


Required Skills:

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker)
  • Strength in multitasking and prioritization in order to meet periodically changing deadlines
  • Self-starting and able to drive projects to completion in a fast moving environment
  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal.  Able to create, discuss and explain technical documentation.
  • Develops documentation for engineering from requirements and architectural designs, and diagrams.
  • Actively manages project risks and issues to close technical gaps in the project. Extensive experience as a systems engineer/ administrator in a government environment, dealing with business critical, high availability systems.
  • Experience of designing and implementing highly available solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that improved the performance, security, and reliability of the system

Desired Skills:

  • Identity Management and Authentication/Authorization experience
  • Linux+ or equivalent certificate/experience
  • Experience developing coding/scripting to build required automation and tools (using Ansible, Ruby, Python, Bash, Powershell, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with DevSecOps concepts, tools and automation skills
  • Familiarity with industry standard host based security systems (HBSS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS)
  • Experience configuring and/or utilizing monitoring/logging solutions
  • Mixed operating systems experience: (Linux, Windows)
  • Kubernetes or similar technology familiarity
  • Experience troubleshooting issues related to SAN and NAS storage

Education

BS/BA in a technical discipline

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience
