For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager to serve under the guidance of the O&M Lead/Senior Manager for this large, complex task order. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical expert across multiple areas of expertise (e.g., computer networks, hardware, and software, including interconnection and interfaces) and lead a diverse enterprise infrastructure team with responsibility for managing and providing managed services for hardware and virtual servers (AIX, RHEL, Windows), hypervisor and VMWare/clustering, network systems, and storage , backup, and restore systems and services. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supervises and coordinates enterprise IT infrastructure operations and changes
  • Supports continuous assessment of system utilization, monitoring response time, and detection and correction of enterprise performance issues
  • Diagnoses root causes and resolves complex systems performance problems
  • Performs enterprise-wide strategic systems planning and analysis
  • Participates in planning, designs, technical reviews, and implementations impacting enterprise infrastructure
  • Supports the O&M Lead/Senior Manager in targeted efforts improve systems reliability, maintainability, availability, and recoverability
  • Establishes and implements standards for information systems operating procedures
  • Provides technical guidance in automated support tools
  • Develops and prioritizes work plans and LOEs for systems integration tasks and team members
  • Develops and executes testing plans and procedures

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS Final Suitability
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong, proven experience leading diverse technical teams and/or managing infrastructure systems in production and non-production environments
  • Strong IT engineering experience across multiple hardware and virtual platforms and operating systems (e.g., AIX, RHEL, Windows)
  • Experience with patching and formulating patching/remediation plans based on Client needs
  • Demonstrated experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
  • 15+ yrs of relevant experience
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure management best practices and tools
  • Expertise with large-scale and/or high-availability enterprise IT infrastructure technologies, O&M, and programs
  • Strong understanding of large-scale VMware and implementation experience with automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working on complex projects in an enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with data-driven performance measures
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps methodologies
  • Excellent analytic and communication skills
