General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opportunity for Network Architect with the following duties and responsibilities included (but not limited to):
Build a greenfield network in a multiple security domain that has the ability to scale.
Design end to end network (LAN/MAN/CAN/WAN) in support of the transport of a variety of traffic types that have different network bandwidth, latency, and jitter requirements (e.g. bulk data transfer, VOIP, Video conferencing, device health telemetry, etc…).
Define long haul carrier service requirements and act as primary technical POC supporting the acquisition and provisioning of long haul carrier services.
Ensure design is compatible with DoD security and information assurance requirements and has high probability of being granted an Authorization to Operate (ATO.)
Analyzes customer requirements and solves unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
Provides expert knowledge for upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
Provides expert knowledge for network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Maintains current and advanced knowledge of progressive and advancing technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)
Consults with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions.
Recognized as an industry leader in a specific technology.
Position Requires a TS/SCI (DCID 6/4 eligible) clearance is required for this position. The candidate also needs to be willing to take a CI polygraph. Employment will be contingent until candidate is deemed eligible for SAP access by the government customer.
CompTIA IAT II Certification required.
Possession of a 4-year degree or equivalent experience with 20+ years' experience, preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to translate conceptual requirements into business and functional requirements.
