Our work depends on a Manual Test Engineer joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Manual Test Engineer supporting CMS, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and maintain test cases that incorporate user experience
  • Performing manual testing for initial validation of new features and of existing features updated due to requirements/environmental changes
  • Acting as an end user and executing steps within the application to ensure accessibility
  • Creating and maintaining testing artifacts and summary reports to present the status of test cases
  • Conducting peer reviews of test cases and test documents


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business, or other related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience manually testing user interfaces (UI) and web applications
  • Experience testing for Section 508 Compliance using JAWS or other similar tool(s)
  • Experience testing APIs using Postman, SoapUI, or other similar tool(s)
  • Experience working within Agile teams, preferably using DevSecOps or DevOps
  • Experience developing testing documentation, such as Test Summary Reports and requirements traceability reports
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years


  • US citizen or a Green Card holder
  • Active SAFe DevOps Practitioner or other SAFe certification(s)
  • Health Care Industry and/or CMS experience
  • Experience using Vischeck and Color Contrast Analyzer
  • Experience with Enterprise Portal and Enterprise IDM
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences

The likely salary range for this position is $75,599 - $126,250, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
