At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Administrative Assistant II a typical day will include:
The Administrative Assistant II (AA II) position is a key member of the front office team with a high level of visibility and daily interaction with both senior management and visitors to the office
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the scheduling and coordination for the three (3) principals
The Administrative Assistant will have a varying levels of autonomy and discretion to handle issues as they arise throughout the day combining transactional work with the opportunity to problem solve on dynamic requirements taking direction from the AA IV and principles to prioritize their work
The resource will be working with the other members of the support team in a professional office environment. The Administrative Assistant shall have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as they may represent the front office in a variety of communication mediums, however, most often in email correspondence, instant messenger and telephone
The Administrative Assistant will lift small items such as supply boxes and copier paper, as they will stock supply shelves, and other such light office duties
The Administrative Assistant will travel a very small amount, normally to another building within the WMA to support a meeting or event; however, this is not a frequent occurrence
HS Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Generally, the Administrative Assistant should be available during normal business hours of 8:00pm - 5:00pm although there is some flexibility with hours that can be coordinated with the other Administrative Assistants (staggering schedules in order to have coverage during core business hours)
Must possess effective communication skills
Proficient Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and some team interaction
