GDIT is currently looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to lead a distributed team of Software Engineers, in developing new and innovative solutions for a number of Defense Department customers.
This position will offer excitement and challenges, with the wide variety of end customers that will be supported, and the requirement to balance multiple priorities across the SW development team.
The successful candidate must have experience using agile methodologies to lead a distributed team of Software Engineers using Agile processes, and must also be adept at both working with product owners and customers to clearly document requirements. The Sr Software Engineer will be the key person ensuring successful delivery of systems that focus on high quality, and bring business value to stakeholders.
In addition to developing new and innovative solutions, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for leading and directing a team of software engineers providing operations and maintenance support to the US Navy’s currently deployed suite of Distance Learning Systems (DLS) and Learning & Knowledge Management Systems (LMS/KMS) software. The Senior Software Engineer shall also be responsible for providing direction to the teams responsible for researching, testing, building and integrating new products or major enhancements based on requirements generated from Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Integrated C2 and Intelligence Division (IC2&I) and their client agencies.
As this is a telecommuting position, the successful candidate must be extremely comfortable with telecommuting technologies, and must be able to project their leadership to a widely distributed team of Software Engineers.
It is required that the Senior Software Engineer has the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT field.
Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) from (ISC)2 Required.
Secret Clearance Required.
At least five years’ experience developing software on Agile Development projects consisting of at least two teams of five to team members each.
At least five (5) years of experience must be related to leading software efforts of similar size to those identified in the TO.
Experience developing applications for deployment to commercial cloud hosting environments.
The likely salary range for this position is $141,440 - $212,160, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
