At GDIT, our people are our differentiator.  Our work depends on a Programmer with experience in high performance computing (HPC) environments joining our team to support one of our Federal Government customers.  As a Programmer – HPC, you will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for a range of HPC solutions and use your expertise to tailor these resources to the computational demands of the emerging cryptanalytic workloads that are critical to the FBI’s Secure Technology Exploitation (STE) program mission under this contract.

• Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools, infrastructure, and server plugins
• Participate in the design of information and operational systems
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
• Monitor and correct server and storage issues and create recovery processes and hardware for failures and performance bottlenecks
• Communicate and coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks, such as automated provisioning
• Prepare and maintain documentation for systems and system configurations

Required Qualifications:

• C++
• Linux proficiency
• MPI
• Knowledge of threads and processes
• 3+ years of experience
• An active Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CUDA is plus
• Ability to parallelize
• Experience with HPC, scientific computing, and optimization is strongly preferred
• BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
• Batch systems management – slurm
• MPI
