GDIT is seeking an experienced Sr Enterprise Architect to join its Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) Group. In this role you will create enterprise-level strategic business and technology solutions and work with technical specialists to devise and define strategic solutions for our customers’ mission critical enterprise systems. You will use your in-depth knowledge of business applications, applications development methodologies, database principles and techniques, and hardware/software operating systems to collaborate across the client enterprise at all levels to align the long-term technology and applications strategy with our government client's long-term business strategies. You will bring your demonstrated ability to understand government expectations and partner it with technology for desired business results.
• Establishes and defines program plan requirements and directs or performs in-depth studies to determine optimum program plans • Experience driving discussions with senior government personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation • Assesses environment framework and helps to ensure implemented use cases adhere to that framework • Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met • Develops architecture and solutions focusing on scalability and extensibility • Interfaces with DHS engineers/architects regarding architecture standards/guidelines/policies based on needs and anticipated technology advances • Experience aligning strategic business and technological goals with capabilities and services articulated through business processes and supported through technology solutions. • Understands and is able to map customer strategic goals to the system, performance, technical and business reference model of the segment architecture supporting the lines of business. • Shapes end-to-end architecture and design and works with the team to implement solutions • Defines templates and set best standards and practices that development teams can utilize • Experienced with EA thought leadership and has expertise with common enterprise architecture frameworks, such as the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF). • Demonstrated experience performing technology evaluations to gauge relevancy, competency, and capability with regards to satisfying business goals and objectives. • Acts as an advisor to executive management to set direction, collaborates with senior and line management to enact strategic plans, and provides leadership to tactical business and technology teams. • Performs cloud service integrations using on-premises technologies and deployments. • Past experience performing as an Enterprise Architect with responsibility for overseeing, improving, and upgrading enterprise services, software, and hardware. • Coordinates with platform vendor for issues and support requests. • Uses exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact regularly with high-level customers and other industry representatives to ensure conformance to customer requirements. • Experience driving discussions with senior government personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and business owners to provide guidance and recommendations on improving IT infrastructure • A proactive approach to identifying issues and problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks along with an ability to offer and implement solutions to address these. • Experience working within the federal government or serving federal government clients on Agile-based development contracts
20 years experience Includes progressive IT Systems Engineering and/or Software Engineering/Development including 5+ years demonstrable cloud experience (e.g., AWS, MS Azure, etc.)
Education: Masters degree
Successful candidate will have completed one or more of the following certifications: - ITILv4 Foundation, - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), - AWS Certified Solutions Architect, - SAFe 5.1 SAFe Architect (ARCH) certification - MSC Systems Engineer
